  put aside all of the 607 b.c.e., there is another question that i'm not familiar with and mabyee some of you know what there explanation is, or if they don't even address the issue.

  we are all familiar with the account in daniel chapter five, and nebuchadnezzars dream about the tree.

  i just wanted to let you know a little bit about what your stupid book started.

  you see, every time i attend the kingdom hall of jehovahs witnesses somehow, somewhere i have to hear mention of how your book proves "worldly wisdom" is no good.

  The Toes of the Image...

  a few weeks ago some visiting speakers wife gave a comment that almost made me want to hurl.

  these people are know for having "goods" in the form of info passed along from people at bethel.

  anyway, i guess one of these bethel guys have been saying in their talks that we are so deep into the end of this system that in relation to the giant image related in the book of daniel, we are now not simply in the peroid of time represented by the feet, we are in its toes!

  is there any information on the web that examines the "pay attention to daniels prophecy" book?

  i received this book att my first convention "gods prophetic word".

  at the time i didn't know much about the history of the watcthtower, but now that i do i can see all the "new light".

  Family Bible Study

  what are some good ways a "family head" could study with his family, helping them to see the weak points in watchtower thinking?

  i wish to start this somehow, but since "family study" is seen as simply going over some misc.

  watchtower publication, i don't see where i can make the headway.

  Jesus, the people of his day, and of theology

  i'm sure this has been discussed before on this board, but since i'm new i'll throw it out there anyway.

  the watchtower never reveals what the people (mainly jews) of jesus day held as to the afterlife.

  it is true that the scribes and pharisees had terrible ideas mixed with greek philosophy and that they stumbled the people.

  Today on Fresh Air

  today i caught an interesting segment of the "fresh air" radio show.

  bible scholar bart d. ehrman talked about some of the problems with a literal translation of the bible.

  although i do not agree with his agnostic view, i was interested enough to pick up a copy of his book today.
